Apple Picking Trip Christmas at Harbor Inn
Our Fall Apple picking trip took on a change this year. Our "Regular" spot
was lacking in apples because of a late frost. SO - -
off we drove to Henderson, NC in search of a "new" regular place!
All went well until "Map Quest" instructed us to turn "Left rather
than Right" After running out of pavement, gravel and pot holes, a
wise one voted that we turn around!! Adding an additional half hour to our
trip was one way of seeing the top of Pinnacle Mountain!
We arrived at Sky Top Orchard and found fresh warm donuts to soothe our nerves
and lots of apples. We loaded up the van with our bounty of apples
and headed south. Stopped at Silver Bay for lunch - were treated like
royalty by the staff along with a couple of extra treats thrown in.
With full stomachs, we headed south once again - now with lots of apples, a full
stomach and wonderful stories to share.
Join us in 2015 -
WE NEVER KNOW WHERE WE'LL GO - OR
WHAT STORIES WILL RETURN WITH US.
ENJOYING THE "GOLDEN YEARS"
Our regular meetings are on the 4th Thursday of each month at 11:30 a.m.
in the Fellowship Hall. A wonderful covered dish luncheon is followed by
fellowship, prayer requests, devotions and a short program of interest.
Trips to places of interest are scheduled and enjoyed by this
lively group. Local theatre productions, the Senior Follies, Fall Apple
picking or trips to the peach orchard are just a few of the events they look
forward to. The Church Van is used for trips.
Anyone interested in joining this fellowship are encouraged to
call the church and leave a message for Lynn Stout.
